Several years ago, the spring regional police conference on the investigation, apprehension, and prosecution of OVI offenders held their conference at Butler Tech. The conference planning committee was composed of local police and OVI defense lawyers. The committee chose me as the judge to participate in the training offered to police in neighboring counties and states for that spring conference, and the follow-up fall conference.  I am proud that I was perceived as fair, impartial, and knowledgeable on these important cases. One of my written decisions on OVI is contained in the Ohio Municipal Judges’ Association repository for well-reasoned opinions. My work on an OVI panel was not required, but rather is something that I chose to do in addition to my required duties.
